BF1942 on Windows 7 ... possible or not?

I tried to install my BF1942 and DCX on my Win 7 PC and as soon as i launch it CTD's immediately with no error msg.

tried WinXP SP2 compatability and launching as admin but no joy.
I uninstalled it all and downloaded the BF1942 for free from Origins Demo section (?) and the same problem with that,
i did some searching and a few people claim they can run it in Win7 but i have no joy whatsoever.... is it possible?

i reckon someone on here must know

bf1942 vs win.7

I had the same problem with my new computer that runs win 7, I uninstalled bf1942 a few times and reinstalled and now it works good. I had to change compatable mode to xp.

Good Luck

Start - "UAC" in the text box - "User Account Control settings"

Set slider to Never Notify (lowest setting) and reboot.

THEN install the games.

Try to run as admin - Right-click icon and choose run as admin.

Might need to run in compat mode:
Run the game as an Administrator in Windows 98 Compatibility mode
In your Battlefield 1942 folder, Right click BF1942.exe->Go to Compatibility Tab
Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 98
Check "Run as Administrator"
Click OK
